Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create your own StudyForge account. If you are under 13, a parent, guardian, or teacher must create and supervise the account on your behalf. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm you have a parent or guardian's permission to use StudyForge.

2. Your account

• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your password secure.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Notify us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Subscriptions & billing

• Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly, unless otherwise stated) and processed by Stripe.
• You can cancel anytime from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by law, or where we state otherwise at the time of purchase.
• We may change pricing going forward; we'll give notice before a price change affects your existing subscription.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use StudyForge for anything illegal, or to upload content you don't have the right to share.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, security controls, or access other users' accounts or data.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell access to the service without our permission.
• Use the classroom/game features to harass or bully other students or educators.
• Submit AI-generated work as your own where that would violate your school's academic integrity policy — StudyForge is a study aid, not a substitute for doing your own learning.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of documents and content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a license to store, process, and use it (including sending it to our AI provider) solely to provide the service to you — for example, generating a study guide from a document you uploaded.

6. AI-generated content

Study guides, quizzes, flashcards, explanations, and practice problems on StudyForge are generated by an AI model. They're a study aid, not a guaranteed-accurate source — AI-generated content can contain mistakes. Always check generated content against your course materials or instructor before relying on it for graded work.

7. Intellectual property

StudyForge's software, design, and curriculum catalog (independent of any content you personally upload) belong to us or our licensors. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand.

8. Copyright & reporting content

If you believe content on StudyForge infringes your copyright, or violates these Terms in some other way (harassment, inappropriate material, etc.), use the "Report" option next to the content (where available) or email us (below) with a description of the content, its location, and why it should come down. We'll review and remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

9. Termination

You can stop using StudyForge and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to the service or other users.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

StudyForge is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including academic outcomes based on AI-generated content. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as StudyForge changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use StudyForge after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
